The reasons why cats cannot drink water after sterilization: 1. Just after the sterilization operation, a certain amount of anesthetic drugs remain in the cat's body, and premature feeding is prone to vomiting and other situations. 2. The organs and other parts are still in a state of paralysis. If the cat is forced to pour water, it may choke the trachea and cause life-threatening consequences. 3. Prevent water from dripping into the cat’s wound during water feeding, causing inflammation of the cat’s wound.

Precautions after cat sterilization:

1. After the operation, the doctor will prepare antibiotics or infusions for 1-2 days for the cat. Owners should strictly follow the doctor’s instructions , regular feeding of medicine or infusion.

2. Within 2 days after surgery, you can choose some professional canned cat formula for feeding, or you can make your own nutritious meal: chicken puree + chicken liver puree + fish puree + eggs, mix well and cook , just don’t add any seasoning. In the future, you should ensure that the cat has enough food and water.

3. Do not force the cat to eat. Under normal circumstances, if there are no other diseases, it does not matter if the cat does not eat for several days. When its gastrointestinal function is weak, forced feeding can also cause vomiting. Cats have a strong ability to regulate themselves and will eat on their own when their condition is better.

4. The cat needs to wear an Elizabethan ring to prevent the male cat from scratching or licking the wound, which may cause the wound to become infected and suppurate.

5. Do not bathe cats after sterilization surgery. Bathing may cause wound infection and easily lead to colds.
