Cats cannot drink ice water because their gastrointestinal tract is very fragile. Ice water is too irritating to the cat’s gastrointestinal tract and can easily cause gastroenteritis, especially for kittens. Drinking ice water will directly cause the cat to have diarrhea and serious diarrhea. Also catch a cold. Just feed cool boiled water at room temperature every day. Try not to give your cat ice water.
Water that cats cannot drink:
1. Unfiltered tap water. Tap water contains many minerals, bacteria, and heavy metals. If a cat drinks unfiltered tap water for a long time, it will cause great harm to the cat's body.
2. Tea. Theophylline in tea contains methylxanthine. Cats who drink it will experience symptoms such as drooling, vomiting, loss of appetite, and accelerated heartbeat.
3. Alcoholic beverages. Cats who consume too much alcohol can suffer from alcohol poisoning, liver and kidney failure, and in more severe cases, death.
4. Spoiled milk. Expired, spoiled, or even milk containing a large number of additives should not be allowed to cats as it will damage the cat’s gastrointestinal health.
5. Water that is not replaced for a long time. If the water is not changed for more than 12 hours, it will be dirtier than toilet water.
