Symptoms of heatstroke in cats:

1. Cats are depressed, have weak limbs, unsteady gait, ataxia, suddenly fall to the ground, and swim-like paddling with limbs .

2. As the condition worsens, body temperature may rise, respiratory center or motor center function may become disordered, and symptoms of paralysis may even occur.

3. Cats suffering from heatstroke may suddenly stand still or fall to the ground and gasp for air, with pink and frothy nasal fluid flowing out of their nostrils.

Preventive measures for cat heatstroke:

1. For long-haired cats, the hair on their footpads and abdomen should be properly trimmed, and the hair on the body can be cut and thinned appropriately.

2. Keep your home well ventilated and turn on the electric fan and air conditioner when necessary, but be careful not to turn on the air conditioner for a long time. You can also use a wet towel to wipe the cat's meat pads.

3. Use cool summer products, such as pet mats, water mats, ice mats, etc. For the safety of cats, be sure to purchase qualified products.

4. Cats have an active personality and are prone to dehydration. If water is not replenished in time, it can easily cause heatstroke and shock. Therefore, cats must be provided with sufficient drinking water at home. Cats do not like to drink water. Cats can consider mobile water dispensers.

5. Avoid excessive temperature differences, and do not allow cats to frequently enter and leave places with large temperature changes. This will cause the body temperature regulation center to be unable to respond in time, leading to heatstroke.

6. Try not to take the cat out in hot weather, and do not leave the cat alone in the car to avoid heat stroke.
