The reasons why cats don’t urinate in the litter box:

1. The litter box is too dirty. Cats love to be clean. Most cases of not pooping in the cat litter are because the litter box has not been cleaned for a long time and is too dirty. There is a lot of poop in it and the smell is very strong, so the cat will not go there. Owners should clean the cat's litter box in time every day and disinfect it regularly.

2. The cat is not accustomed to the new cat litter or litter box. If the owner suddenly changes the type of cat litter, or changes to a new cat litter box, the cat will not adapt to the litter box without its own smell, and the cat needs to be allowed to accept the new cat litter step by step.

3. Indiscriminate urination caused by estrus. Unneutered cats will urinate indiscriminately during the estrus period because cats are trying to mark their territory and attract the opposite sex. The owner can match the cat with a cat of the opposite sex, or wait until the appropriate time to take the cat to a pet hospital for sterilization surgery.

4. The cat is sick. When a cat suffers from gastrointestinal diseases, it may be too late to defecate in the litter box, or when the cat is extremely uncomfortable, it may not have the strength to walk to the litter box to use the toilet.

5. The litter box is in the wrong position. The litter box is too far from the cat’s living area and the cat is too lazy to walk that far, or the litter box is too close to where the cat eats. The cat does not like to excrete around the food.
